the orreryo name and its marks, and how to use them.
you may use the orreryo name and marks to refer to orreryo without asking. for anything else, email hello@brainy.ink with a mockup of what you have in mind. please do not modify the marks, or use them in a way that suggests orreryo sponsors or endorses you.
night is the default app icon. halo and paper are for seasonal or partner moments. they are square; the platform rounds them.
clear space and size
keep the height of an o clear on every side. nothing enters that box: not type, not a frame edge, not another logo.
x = the height of an o
wordmark · 96 px · 20 mm
e-mark · 16 px · 6 mm
those are the smallest each mark may run: the wordmark 96 px wide on screen or 20 mm in print, the e-mark 16 px or 6 mm, in its small cut. smaller than that, use the next mark down.
usage
the wordmark is a drawing. keep it whole, keep it flat, keep it one colour.

colour
black is the ground and ink is the type. halo is the accent, one per view. every part of a life and every product gets an engine, and every engine is one of these eight, each lit from behind in its own triad.
ember
personal. the default engine, the gold one.
rust
craft and making.
rose
people and money.
iris
health and the mind.
sea
the shop, the things you sell.
sage
growth.
sand
home and the everyday.
ash
what rests. stale worlds drain toward it.
tap any value to copy it. the main value is the engine; the three under it are the rim it is lit by, hot at the crest, mid down the flanks, deep at the foot. gold #d9a441 always means the ember engine, never the interface.
type
funnel display is the voice: display, headings, labels and signals. geist carries anything longer than a line.
a calm map of what matters
funnel display
regular and medium. headings run lowercase with normal tracking and tight leading; labels and signals track out, 0.14 to 0.32 em.

the patterns tile seamlessly both ways. they frame the brand; never set small type on one at full strength.
name
always lowercase: orreryo. one word, even at the start of a sentence or in a title.
orreryo
Orreryo
ORRERYO
the name comes from the orrery, a working model of the sky. the idea behind it. in running text, set the name in the surrounding font; the drawn wordmark is only ever the logo.
